Councilman Charles (Chuck) Torelli has lived in Kennewick since 1985. His three children were all raised in Kennewick as were three (out of ten) of his grandchildren. He is married to Beverly Johnson-Torelli who retired from the Kennewick School District as Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources.
Chuck retired from Hanford in 2011 after a thirty-four-year career. Thirty-one years were spent at the Plutonium Finishing Plant in capacities ranging from Plant Engineer to decommissioning Superintendent.
Chuck was appointed to the Kennewick City Council in 2019. He replaced Councilman Matt Boehnke who was elected to the Washington State Legislature. Chuck served on the Kennewick Planning Commission since 2017. He also serves on the board of the Benton-Franklin League of Women Voters, is a member of the East Benton County History Museum and Historical Society and was a past board member of the SHAKE (provides school supplies for local school districts).
Chuck serves on the Hanford Advisory Board, Tri-Cities Regional Public Facilities District, Visit Tri-Cities Board and the Planning and Economic Development Committee. Councilman Torelli serves as the Alternate on the Benton Franklin Community Action Committee, Benton Franklin Council of Government and Tri-Mats Policy Advisory Committee. He also is the Alternate on the Hanford Communities Governing Board, and Kennewick FOCUS.
Chuck priorities are economic development and managed long-term planning.
