How do I reserve a Park or facility?
Park reservations can be made at the Southridge Sports Complex, or the Kennewick Senior Center. Some gazebos can be reserved online. See the Special Events Page for more details.
2.
Is metal detecting allowed in the parks?
We have no rules against metal detecting in our general parks. However, we do not want people digging with shovels. Methods of investigation should be done with small spade type instruments and if turf is lifted out of place, it should be pressed back into place and stepped on to make it firm.
If we were to see someone going beyond what we deem acceptable, we would make contact with them and ask them to stop. If they continue or we see them in similar actions again, we would contact KPD.
3.
Is there a Dog Park in Kennewick?
Not at this time. There is one planned in the conceptual plan of Columbia Park, but it is unknown when this may be implemented.
