How do I prosecute someone for giving my business a bad check?
The Kennewick City Attorney’s Office reviews documents for prosecution in regards to bad checks issued by customers in a business establishment. If you are a business who has received an “Account Closed” or “NSF” returned check and the total amount is under $750, please submit a Fraudulent Check forms and follow the instructions to submit your case for review.

If you have a bad check over $750 please submit your paperwork to the Benton County Prosecutor’s Office. If you believe the check issued to you was fraudulent or stolen, please contact the Kennewick Police Department through non-emergency dispatch at 509-628-0333.
