Community Development Block Grant
The City of Kennewick receives funds annually from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to administer the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. This program funds various nonprofit agencies and other city departments to implement services that benefit low- and moderate-income persons.
Grantees are selected through an annual competitive process. The CDBG process involves citizen participation and public input. Public hearings and meetings are held in conjunction with the proposal application process to identify and address community needs.
Infrastructure installation or improvements, Economic or Community Development activities and Public Service programs are generally the recipients of the grant funds.
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Application Period is OPEN.
Application period open until September 2, 2022 at 4 pm.
