For the safety of pedestrians, please keep your garbage bins, recycle containers or other personal property off of the sidewalk. It is unsafe for pedestrians to step into the street to avoid a blocked sidewalk. It is especially dangerous for children and those with disabilities. Disposing of Chemicals and other Hazardous Materials
As a result of the fire at the Benton County Household Hazardous Waste Facility located at the City of Richland's Horn Rapids Landfill on June 27, 2010 most household and business hazardous waste will not be accepted at that facility until further notice. These wastes include paints, waste oil, solvents, antifreeze, pesticides, aerosols, pool chemicals, and cleaners.
