Responsibilities
Streets
The Street crews are responsible for a wide variety of activities that keep the City's streets safe, clean and functional. The Street crews repair damaged asphalt and potholes, complete minor asphalt overlays and crack sealing, sweep streets year round, control road-side vegetation, and provide snow and ice removal during snow season to ensure the roadways are safe and passable. Street Maintenance is also responsible for the Inert Landfill and Street Waste Facility.
Traffic
The Traffic Division consists of three main sections comprised of signs and striping maintenance, electrical maintenance, and traffic engineering and operations. The striping and signing section maintains the City's traffic control signs, long line stripes, and pavement markings. Electrical maintenance includes City street lights, traffic signals and signal systems, and school speed beacons (flashers).
